Everton Football Club was founded in 1878 as St Domingo FC and was renamed Everton FC the following year. Everton Football Club is one of the 12 founder members of the Football League which was established in 1888.
The Club’s motto is Nil Satis Nisi Optimum which translates as ‘Nothing but the Best is Good Enough’ and the Club has aspired to this philosophy throughout the it’s long and illustrious history.
Everton Football Club is one of the most successful clubs in English football having won the League Championship nine times, the FA Cup five times and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup. The Club has been in the top division of English football for over 108 years and has been in the top-flight for the past 57 consecutive seasons. Everton FC has played more games in the top-flight of English football than any other club.
Everton FC has an outstanding football tradition that is the envy of many teams in the footballing world today.
